05-16-13 Carquest Auto Parts QUICK 16 Rules and Purse
1)   Dialed in, .500 Full Tree, 1/8 Mile,  8 door cars and 8 dragsters. If there are less than 8 vehicles in either category, the lower qualified vehicles of the other category will fill the field. Door slammers will run door slammers and dragster will run dragsters.  The final round will be a doorslammer & a dragster.
2)   Delay Boxes allowed.
3)   No throttle stops.
4)   Two steps allowed.
5)   NOS, Turbos, Blowers allowed.
6)   Any motor, transmission allowed.
7)   No minimum weight restrictions.
8)   Chassis must have current certification.
9)   All IHRA/Empire Dragway safety rules apply.
10) Courtesy staging is in effect.  Anyone"double bulbing"will be backed out.  Second occurrence in the same round will result in disqualification.
11) Engine diapers mandatory.
12) No deep staging.  (Blue light in effect)  Deep staging will result in an automatic red light.
13) We will be utilizing a Sportman ladder.
14)  2 Qualifying runs (one in each lane).
15) Burnouts will be done together when the burnout director signals.
16) Tire smoke from Excessive Braking will result in disqualification. NO WARNINGS.
17) You will have 7 seconds to stage once your opponent has staged, otherwise you will be timed out and receive an automatic red light.
18) Non qualifiers will receive free entry to the Super Pro Class.
19) Sandbagging Rule - Drivers must dial in within 1/10 of their best qualifying time.
20) Winner and Runner-Up and crew must wear a Carquest Auto Parts hat in the Winner's Circle photos (hat provided by Carquest Auto Parts)

$1,500 to Win
$600 Runner-Up
$300 Semi Finals
$150 Quarter Finals
Entry fee $151. Crew member fee is $13. Each new driver will receive a complimentary participant decal and T-Shirt.

 There will be a points program for the Quick 16 class.  To be able to create a Quick 16  Champion in 2013, we will be awarding 1 point per round won. 
Quick 16 Points entry fee is $25.

04-15-13  Sunoco Racing Fuel info
We will, once again, be carrying Sunoco racing fuel for 2013.  We will have a fresh delivery for opening day of Sunoco 110 and 112 octane fuel as well as methanol.  As of right now, there has not been an increase from our distributor and the prices will remain the same as last year. The price for Sunoco purple (110 octane) is $9.50/gallon, Sunoco blue (112 octane) is $10.50/gallon and methanol is $4.00/gallon.

03-13-13  4.70 Thunder Outlaw Door Slammer Series Returns to the Big e
The most exciting side by side door slammer series in the Northeast returns to the Big e with a 6 event schedule for 2013.  No one could foresee how exciting and close the competition could be with 160+ mph door slammers when we started this series last year.  The 4.70 class brought competitors with blowers, nitrous and turbos,  who all had to tune their hot rods to the 4.70 index.  What a job they did. The class has attracted racers and spectators who all look forward to each 4.70 event.

NEW FOR 2013 - There will be a points program for the 4.70 class.  To be able to create a 4.70 Champion in 2013, we will be awarding 1 point per round won.

The dates for 2013 will be Saturday, May 25, Saturday, June 1, Saturday, June 29, Saturday, July 20, Saturday, August 24 and Sunday, September 15.
Once again, Bob Jaus, IHRA certified chassis inspector and owner of Bob Jaus Racecraft and Jaus Trucking, has done a great job securing sponsorship for the class.

03-11-13  Carquest Auto Parts Quick 16 Series
The extremely popular Quick 16 program, featuring 180 + mph dragsters and door slammers, is returning in a big way to Empire Dragway for 2013.  Jerry Scaccia, of Jimmy's Sales & Service, has secured substantial sponsorship money for the Quick 16 program.  The series will be contested on an 1/8 Mile and will be open to both door slammers and dragsters.  The purse structure and rules will be released as soon as all details are finalized.  What has been confirmed are the dates and sponsors.

03-07-13  New for 2013!! The Big e 1/8 Mile Shootout Series
Donna and I are excited to announce a new Sunday Series for 2013.  The Series will be 1/8 Mile, with $1000 to Win GUARANTEED  for both the Box and No-Box classes, plus $300 Runner-Up, $125 for semi finalists - AND $35 ROUND $ BEGINNING WITH 3RD ROUND WIN.   The entry fee will be $50. The Box Class is for vehicles running 0-8.99, delay boxes allowed.  The No-Box class is open to all vehicles running any dial (except dragsters), including bikes & sleds.   Bikes & sleds will race each other until only one remains. That competitor will receive a $100 Bonus and then will race the remaining No-Box cars. The dates will be Sunday, May 26, Sunday, June 23, Sunday, July 28 and Sunday, August 11.  The winners in both Box and No-Box from each event of the series, and the winners in Box and No-Box from each day of the 1/8 Mile Nationals (August 30, 31 & September 1) will receive a Big e 1/8 Mile Shootout Series Winner's Jacket and will qualify to run-off for a 2014 Season Pass on Sunday, October 20.  Did I mention that it's $1000 to win GUARANTEED, and we pay $35 round money, beginning with 3rd Round win?!!  We look forward to seeing all of you at this exciting new series.
The Big e 1/8 Mile Shootout Series Rules
The Winner of both Box and No-Box from all four Big e 1/8 Mile Shootout Series events along with the winners in both Box and No-Box from Friday, Saturday and Sunday of the 1/8 Mile Nationals will receive a Big e 1/8 Mile Shootout Series Winners Jacket* and will qualify for 2014 Season Pass* run-off on Sunday, October 20.  Please note, if the Frigid Nationals, Sunday October 13 is rained out, the Frigid Nationals would be held on October 20 and the Big e 1/8 Mile Shootout Series Run-Off will be held on Sunday, October 27.  In the event that October 27 is also rained out, the winner of the 2014 Season Pass will be determined by a drawing.  If one of the qualifiers is not able to attend the run-off they will forfeit their position.  The run-off is for the drivers who qualify. No substitute drivers will be permitted.  In the event a qualified driver's vehicle breaks they may use a different vehicle for the run-off.  Vehicles may not be substituted once the run off begins.  For the run-off, drivers will be given 2 time trials prior to the 1st round.  Box cars will run Box cars down to 1 and No-Box cars will run No-Box cars down to 1, the two finalist will run off for the season pass.  *Season Pass and jackets will be distributed at the Awards Banquet, Saturday, January 18, 2014.

03-04-13  Empire Dragway releases Gasser Racing Series dates
The Gasser Racing Series has done nothing but grow over the past few years.  We are pleased to announce that Empire Dragway, will once again, be the exclusive venue for the Gasser Racing Series. Empire Dragway will, once again, be the exclusive home of the popular MOMS Racing 5.0 Mustang Shootout Series.  The often imitated, never duplicated MOMS Racing program is the best heads up, pro tree, side by side Mustang Shootout in the country. 02-10-13  Reserved Pit Space Maps & Info for 2013
We have been getting many requests about reserved pit spaces for 2013.  If you had a pit space in 2012,  you need to contact us by March 1, 2013 to let us know if you want your space again this year.  If anyone does not contact us by March 1, we will assume you do not want it and will make the space available. We have several people on a waiting list for pit spaces. You do not need to pay for a reserved pit space until April 1, 2013,

 Prices for 2013 pit spaces are  $135 for any paved pit space and $85 for tower side grass pit spaces.  Racers from any class are eligible to reserve a pit space.  Your pit space will be reserved at all 1320 Club Points Races and the  1/8 Mile Shootout, as well as the 1/8 Mile Nationals.
